Welcome - Cead Míle Fáilte
Located on the north shore of Dublin Bay, Kilbarrack / Foxfield Parish takes pride in combining its ancient history with the progressive ministry of a modern parish. The old district of Kilbarrack dates from earliest Christianity in Ireland when the only road was a track along the seashore, 12 centuries before the Bull Island began to form.
When viewed from the coast road in recent years, a distinctive pyramid is obvious on the skyline - the outline of our Parish Church, which dates from 1982. Bold and modern in design our church reflects the attitude of parishioners who use every opportunity to develop interesting ways of promoting parish worship and other community activities.
The Parish Church of St John the Evangelist with its interesting pyramid architecture is found a hundred metres inland from the Howth Road/James Larkin (coast) Road Junction which places it nicely in the heart of the parish area. (The Church Architect was Mr. Desmond Doyle of Burke-Kennedy Doyle & Partners)
